OUR
SAFEGUARDS
Never yield Christian principles
“Christ did not merely give us directions as to the path
in which we must travel, but He came to be our Teacher. He did
not merely tell us how we ought to obey, but in His own life He
gave us a practical example of how we should obey. Thus He is
the true Helper. Going before us, he beats down the obstructions,
and tells us to walk in His footsteps. Our blessed Saviour says,
"Follow Me. I will lead you. I am the Way, the Truth, and
the Life. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness"
(see Matt. 4:19; John 14:6; 8:12).”
Upward Look p. 166
Discern between bible truth and fables.
“The only way for such poor souls to overcome Satan, is
to discern between pure Bible truth and fables.
Testimonies for the Church, Vol 1 , p. 344
“I assure you that it will be one of our perplexities
to distinguish the genuine from the spurious. Deception steals
in unawares, just as it stole into the heavenly courts. Satan
sought to undermine the confidence of the angels in God's government.
“
Upward Look p. 135
“As human beings, we are subject to the crafty wiles and
temptations of this fallen foe. And unless we are kept by the
power of Christ, we shall certainly be led away by the satanic
sophistries by which the world is flooded. Our safety is to lean
not on human power, on the arm of flesh, but upon the divine arm.
Those who are partakers of the divine nature will not be beguiled
by Satan.
Upward Look p. 149
Prayerfully study God’s words and practically apply such
in our lives.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
“
Psalms 119:105
“We must all now seek to arm ourselves for the contest
in which we must soon engage. Faith in God's word, prayerfully
studied and practically applied, will be our shield from Satan's
power and will bring us off conquerors through the blood of Christ.
Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 2, p.302
Beware of seductive theories.
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain
deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the
world, and not after Christ.“
Colossians 2:8
